The place is very family and group friendly. The music played was appropriate and added to the vibe. We ate at the bar to avoid a wait. The service at the bar was great. The food was okay in my opinion. I tried the catfish and found it to be a bit too salty and no other seasoning. The sweet potato fries were a bit charred and cooler than I would have preferred. The greens and corn bread were fine. The real issue was the condition of the bathroom. The stalls were poorly maintained and damaged tissue dispensers. NO HOT or even warm water for washing hands. Rolls of paper towels on the wet counter that we had to rip off sections to dry our hands. The place is very family and group friendly. The music played was appropriate and added to the vibe. Tonight was my first time here, and I’ll definitely be back. They served me the exact meal that I was hungry for. Whoever is running that deep fryer in the back is a true wizard!! Our food was delicious, the dining room was beautiful and the table service was way above par.

Years ago, I remember standing in line just to eat the delicious food from Southern Fire. It was normal to bump into any and everyone, as this place was a Detroit favorite. Clearly, there has been a change from the southern family feel, originally provided. Now it's almost a club vibe. The change in decor is startling...but not bad. Some of my favorites from the old menu are gone. I really missed their desserts. But honestly, the food is still really good. The staff was attentive, professional, and prompt. We ordered the fried, whole wings, candied yams, mac & cheese, steaks bites, fries, and strawberry lemonade. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS, but the lemonade waw underwhelming. It seemed offsetting for food with such a unique taste to have such an obviously store bought tasting accompaniment. Otherwise, it was a nice experience. Worth another visit.

I believe my first time visiting this restaurant was around 2018. Excellent excellent food excellent environment somewhere that you can take your family. Also if you’re wanting to go on a single date with someone, you’re very attractive, even as a place to just pick some good nutritious well rounded well thought out meal this would be my spot. I recently had some fish and when I tell you, it was delicious. It just melted in my mouth and I also had like it was like Texas toast, phenomenal it wasn’t hot because it was you know I had it previously so it wasn’t hot, but it was still as it was better than the end than it was when I first purchased it..

Was greeted at the door, staff were very attentive. The place could use some updates, music was great while playing in the background at a nice volume. Food we delicious would had given a 5 star but they need to work on their cornbread it was to moist it was almost like cake. Parking lot was a decent size. The menus most definitely need to be updated you could barely see the printing on them due to fading. Just keep in mind that if your are going with a large group they will not split the bill it's all on one, so don't go with people who can't afford to go and pay their portion. Bathroom was spacious and kinda of cute and I love the chandeliers throughout the restaurant. I had collard greens, yams, fried chicken wings and everything was delicious and fresh, my husband had steak bites, Mashed Potatoes and gravey and seasoned fries. The steak had a little to much pepper on it in my opinion. Nice little place for an intimate date night, casual wear clothing. Don't expect an upscale restaurant because it's night. Forgot to get a pic of the bar, had tons of options for great drinks.
